One Day Project- Stephen

Image
Stephen's project called 'super glue' was based around picking out words from a piece of text and creating a drawing based around the words that really stood out to them. I was unfortunately not in during this day so i had to do it from home and use an ebook piece. I started my circling words and sentences that stood out to me. This piece was mainly about bottle of bleach in the kitchen from a piece of text within Matilda.  From here i was able to start thinking about these words and how i can create a drawing inspired by this. After drawing some intial ideas and thumbnails i began drawing the outline for the main drawing as seen below. This allowed me to play with the composition and different areas to show the words which were chosen.  Once i had finished a more finalised sketch i was able to begin adding colour and play around with pattern. I wanted to stick with a fun playful simple style. It appears slightly messy but overall i do like how it looks. I made sure to ...

One Day Project- David

Image
For the one day project brief created by David we were to create a four panel story inspired by the song 'Happy Birthday', there wasn't many needs for the brief however, it was important we thought further than ust the traditional birthday cake.  After being given the brief i began thinking of some different ideas and creating some inital ideas which can be seen in the panel sketches below. In my ideas i thought mainly about creating a birthday party the first idea was for my own rabbits showing them thrpughout their borthday party as they discover the special picnic planned for them. The second idea was based around a dog who was recieveing his birthdy cake whilst being sung to. I really enjoyed both ideas and felt they told happy birthday in their own way. However, after having a think and reviewing the ideas i ecided to move forward with the rabbit ideas as i felt this was a bit more unique and would challenge my drawing skill. Inital Ideas Final Design  Below shows the ...

One Day Project- Matt

Image
For Matt's brief we were to think about the idea of typography and how we can relate it to valentines day. It was important to think outside of just simple typogaphy and therefore i began my idea generating process. Sketches and inital ideas Below shows the photo os my sketchbook page taken as part of the my initial ideas. On here i really thought about the actual words i am communicating as well as the unique composition that i could play with. It was important for myself to go through this process as i really wanted to push myself out of my comfort zone. Some of my favourites from my sketchbook page include the claw machine, i really liked this idea and i would love to develop this as a full coloured illustration, however, i felt it wasn't strong enough within the typography and therefore i decided to go with the match stick idea. final design    Below shows my final ideas for the perfect match. I decided to create it into a two part illustration both with very different fee...

One Day Project- Molly's Brief

Image
For the firts one dy brief we were to create something called story walls. The ideas was to create a cube with at least four of the sides used to tell a story amd only using collage style media. This was something very far out of my comfort zone as this is a media i tend to avoid. After developing some inital ideas i decided to settle the idea of seasons specfically looking at flowers. I wanted to create still life style collage with modern influences something inspired by the style piece seen below. Inspiration from Pinterest Development Here shows a photo taken during the process showing some of the process of the collage media. I found the creation stage relly chanllenging, i felt very much pushed outside of my comoftone and was fighting with the idea of perfection and was being overly cautious with the messiness of the shapes and layers. However after, some reflection i carried on and made sure to play with many different medias.  Final Below shows the four sides of the cu...

Final Packaging info

Image
After showing, my final product i also wanted to include a more detail description regarding the packaging and materials i decided to use as part of the final design, This image was taken from my final client presentation to show the packaging that i used.  Jar For the jar i kept rather traditional, i want to use simple glass jar. Glass can be rather complicated when it comes to sustainability as it takes alot of energy when produced, However, when reused and recyled it is a great option. Therefore, to ake this a sustainbkle option within our packaging we show customer ways that they can reuse the jars after use. For the lid i went back and fourth between a simple aliminum lid with o plastic seal and also the cork lid. Now cork is most sustinable within the materials used to make it however, hen it comes to user usage it would be rather difficult for it to be used and removed expecially bad for olde rpeople who struggle with usage of their hands. Therefore i decided to go forward w...

Final Products

Image
Here shows all my finalised parts of my product which  have used to amke my brand. I have individual post regarding each however, i felt it would be best to put them altogether so the product could be seen as a whole. I chose a few imaes from each sort of section that i created, just to get a basic idea of the overall design.  When looking over i am super happy with how it turned out, i kept to the sustainbale aspect within my materials which i mentioned in my final presentation, i also kept in mind for the Un sustainblity goals mine specifically reflecting life on land, and resposible consumption and production, it was important for myself to refer back tot hese throiughout and also mention them within my product for my own customers to see. As for the desing aspect, i feel i pushed myself by createing a bold simplistic logo which woould contrast highliy with the brighter packaging. I like th eoverall look and i feel it really captures the values of my brand and the product i...
