One Day Project- Molly's Brief

 For the firts one dy brief we were to create something called story walls.The ideas was to create a cube with at least four of the sides used to tell a story amd only using collage style media. This was something very far out of my comfort zone as this is a media i tend to avoid. After developing some inital ideas i decided to settle the idea of seasons specfically looking at flowers. I wanted to create still life style collage with modern influences something inspired by the style piece seen below.

Here shows a photo taken during the process showing some of the process of the collage media. I found the creation stage relly chanllenging, i felt very much pushed outside of my comoftone and was fighting with the idea of perfection and was being overly cautious with the messiness of the shapes and layers. However after, some reflection i carried on and made sure to play with many different medias. 

Final

Below shows the four sides of the cube throughout the seasons, i chose to really communicate the ideas of the seasons through the use of colour ans texture. For example below shows my first side for spring, in this i keep to a pastel green to represent the regrowth of nature something light and delicate. After looking at the four sides finally i do like how it looks, it definetly has an abstract element within the shapes i used and the lack of detail. It was definetly something far from my comfort zone and something i found rather challenging however, when looking at it as a whole i feel it has character and still tells its own individual story. 

I am happy wih how it turned out for my first inital collage piece, i do feel there is elements taht i would like to work on for example making sure when layered it would appear neater, as you can see in the pictures there are some areas that are coming away from the cube base aswell as some stains from glue adn trying ti press the areas down.
