Lid alternatives

When thinking about packaging i have wanted to make sure that my packaging is sustinble in some way, I had a look at the majority of the packaging however, i felt there was a lack of research regading the lid itself. The lid i feel is a tricky thing, as, you need to also think aboutthe fuctionality as well as the sustainbility, making sure that it can keep the honey air tight to her preserve it. Below are a few different options i found.

Aliminum lid (no plastic seal)

The first  option i found was the traditional aliminum lid that can be found on most jars. This is a reliable option as it is known well for keeping its product fresh and preserved annd is also an easily produceable option. As for the sustainabiliy elements, all alimiun jar lids can be recyeld and therefore reused. If i was also to use these lids i would make sure there was no plastic seal, i want my products to be 100% plastic free and feel this element is simply a waste.

(cork lid)

Cork is a great sustaiable option with it being able to farm easily from oak tress, and also can be reused and recyled. This product is also biogradebale due to its natural elements. I like the idea of a cork lid as  it has a natural element to it, however, i can imagin it may cause great difficulty for the onsuemr when it comes to opening and closing  a they tend to be very stiff. This does not mean this is soemthing that i wouldn't use.

The final option i found that had sustainable elments would be the bamboo ld. Now i like this option and think it looks really smart however, i am not sure if t is the best in terms of keeping fresh product such as honey and instead used in more reusable household jas for things such as sugar and coffee. This is a shame as bamboo is ery sustaible with theproduction process being alot better for our environment then wood.

I like all the materials i have looked at, however, i am especially draw to the idea o the cork lid and the alimium with no plastic seel. The cork lid has more of a natural element and is rather fun however, i worry about the useage on the consumer as it may becone difficult for older people or anyone for that fact to get the lid of due to its hard structure.
