Research Bees and honey

 With bees being a main focus for my product with them playing a key element within its product, i felt it would eb a key part to looking into some facts regardinging bees and the prodcution of  honey as it wikll allow me to give some context and may give inspiration behind some elements for the illustrations and brandings.

Bee and honey Facts

- The honey bees also known as 'Apis Mellifera' are known for being environementally friendly and vital pollinators

-Honey is th eonly food naurall to include all the substances to sustain life

-The honey bee has a wing stroke of 200 beats per second 

-A hive of bees will fly 90,000 miles to collect 1kg of honey

-It takes one ounce of honey to fuel a bee's flight around the world

- A colony of bees can be between 20,000-60,000 hoeny bees and one queen 

-Worker honey bees are female and live for 6 weeks in which they do all the work

-A queen bee can live up to 5 years

-A queen bee can lay up to 2500 eggs per day 

-Each honey bee colony has a different smell for the bees to recognise. 

-Honey bees communicate by dancing. 

-During the winter the bees feed on the honey they collected during the warmer months

-Only female bees can sting

-Eating honey can make you smarter as it has an antioxidant which improves brain fuctions

-A bee could visit 50 to 100 flowers on one nectar visit
