(Briefcase Brief) Inspiring Branding
After looking at some different areas of research I felt it was important to look specifically into branding, as this is a big part of the brief. Below I've chosen a few branding styles which I particularly like.
Above is one of my favourite branding as I love the use of type which they have chosen and how they have combined it with other typography to add extra information yet not take away from the main name. I also like how they have played with shape and combined this within some of the empty areas of the text. Overall i feel this is a strong example of branding as I feel they have a fun, not too serious logo combined with soft yet bold colours to really draw the attention into the logo.
The second branding that really stuck out to me was this one above, this is a branding board and is a great way to get a feel for the brand as it shows the colour palette and the different graphics created for the brand. I particularly like this branding as not only have they created a typography style logo but also a character to go with them, I always find this an interesting thing to add within branding as it almost creates this connection between the customer and the character by creating a face for the product. I also really like the retro feel within the colour palette with the bright style and 70's feel to the warmer tones.
The third branding i chose was this branding for la Croix. I chose this as branding that stood out to me as I really liked the use of illustration within the design to help promote the product. For example the product has even been illustrated to help create a blend between the product and the background; I also like how the designer has used a repeat pattern and has create an overall aesthetic feel for the brand they're trying to promote.
The final branding that i found on Pinterest was by graphic designer Lucy Jenn and has this fun contrasting linework with this bold full coloured typography that cuts through the centre of the illustration. I really like how this has been done and feel it really successful with the modern style that the artist used. I feel this could definitely be a branding piece that could be inspirational for my own work.
Moving forward I would like to think about my logo thinking about the name and what kind of feel i would like for the overall branding. For example right now after doing some brief research i would like to have a retro feel to the typography, something soft yet bold and strong.
